PLATINUM - because no one ever writes about you
Sorry Platinum. The youngest child always loved, the oldest child always in the way, the middle child (Gold) always overcompensating. It's Platinum that always gets forgotten so today we plan to rectify that.
EUREKA MOMENT are champions of Platinum - having bought a few terrific new female players by the looks of it when I drop in to their matches. They are again the epitome of "it takes a relegation to make a team better", as they were just moribund in their last season in Gold when they went down with a whimper (I am not even sure there was a whimper). This season Eureka lost to Nylon in the group stages and finished second in the group, but in the end "we meet again" in the finals and Eureka exacted their revenge. Of course it was a somewhat meaningless match promotion wise as both teams went up irrespective but it's nice to hold on to that air trophy for Christmas.
The all important third place playoff happens soon with Calicut Cartel taking on WAGMI. Both have been in better leagues before and both do want to avoid spending time with Ruby alumni next season I imagine but instead go to Gold to play the gang of ex-Prems. Historically we do have dropouts from Gold, so whoever loses that match will probably squeeze in to Gold anyway after we recalibrate our leagues.
Rhodesia Solution win the spiritual fifth place matchup after defeating B&P, whereas The Formiddables and The Expendables tie for seventh place with a literal tie at the last breath of Platinum. The latter two teams were projected to go into relegation playoffs anyway so they will be pleased to just keep their palce for one more season.
In the bottom echelon NAMMA BELGRADURU won all three relegation playoff matches so they get to keep their place in Platinum for one more season. Hence leaving Platinum into the wild woods: firstly Shh Not a Proctor who are sadly supposed this season to be challenging for Gold, but have lost their way somewhat - they needed to win all 3 relegation playoff matches to be in contention, but with Namma Belgraduru's 37-31 win they knew all bets were off unless one of the other two could upset them
Thala for a Reason and Jons Know sneak back quietly to Ruby, the former have knocked around but not been able to win anything thus far whereas Jon Snow had so much title winning promise but really this league has proven to be one step too hard and they will be hoping to quietly regroup and win promotion again stronger.
